The Sound of the Golden Hurricane

The "Sound of the Golden Hurricane" marching band is open to all University of Tulsa students regardless of major, and serves as an integral part of TU game day festivities. In addition to its role in promoting school spirit, the "Sound" also provides a variety of halftime entertainment for the TU football crowd. Current and classic popular music, movie soundtracks, patriotic tunes, and many other genres are represented in the music selection of the "Sound." The band performs several different shows during the football season, in order to reach the largest audience possible throughout the year. Questions regarding the band should be addressed to Andrew Anderson, Director of Sports Bands.

Two bands, numbering 30-40 members, alternate performing at home games, with the goal of creating home court advantage and excitement. The basketball bands play at most home games, and travel to all conference and national tournaments. Questions regarding the basketball bands should be addressed to Andrew Anderson, Director of Sports Bands.
