Tulsa, Okla. - TU basketball fans can help the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma by bringing a non-perishable food item to Saturday's Tulsa-SMU men's basketball game. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m. at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

Food supplies at The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma are running low, and the food bank is in desperate need of assistance with non-perishable food items.

The food bank's list of most needed items is:
canned meat
canned fruit
canned vegetables
soup
chili
dry milk
baby formula
baby cereal
pasta sauces
peanut butter
rice

The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma serves a 24 county region. The Food Bank collects, warehouses, and distributes food and other products through a network of private, non-for-profit agencies in the service area. In other words, they collect and distribute food to agencies that, in turn, distribute the food directly to qualified, low-income families.

A major source of food for the Food Bank is from organizations and individuals who collect food from the public. Thus, organizations like TU, are an important avenue of assistance in making their program viable.

Food barrels will be located at all ticketed entrances to the Reynolds Center.
