Tulsa, Okla. -
The TU Lettermen's Association hosted the Spring Letter Award Presentation on Tuesday, April 15 in the ONEOK Club Lounge at H.A. Chapman Stadium. Seven Hurricane athletic programs were represented as letter jackets were awarded to first-time letter winners in the sports of men's soccer, women's soccer, volleyball, men's cross country, women's cross country, men's basketball, women's basketball and football. In all, 50 student-athletes received their first varsity letter award on this special evening.
"As a former student-athlete myself, I know what it means to earn the first varsity letter award," said Vice President & Director of Athletics Dr. Derrick Gragg. "As the athletic director, it is certainly a privilege for me to witness TU's student-athletes being honored for their hard work and dedication." The Letter Award Presentation event has grown significantly since it began five years ago. "It is a great opportunity for student-athletes to be recognized for their achievements and to see the support they have from family, friends and coaches," said TU Lettermen's Association President Kate Jones.
The next Student-Athlete Letter Award Presentation will take place in Fall 2014.
