Class of 2008 The 1945 Tulsa football team completed the season with an overall 8-3 record. Began the season with a five-game winning streak, out-scoring the opposition 170 to 7 points in those five games. Made Tulsa's fifth straight appearance in a New Year's Day Bowl Game with an invitation to the 1946 Oil Bowl in Houston, Texas. Tulsa became the first school to play in five straight New Year's Day Bowl Games. The only losses came against No. 8-ranked and eventual Big 10 Champion Indiana, No. 11 Oklahoma A&M, and No. 18 Georgia. Tulsa out-scored its opponents on the season by 25.0 to 6.4 points per game. The Hurricane finished the season ranked 17th in the Associated Press poll. |
