Was a tremendous breakaway runner and pass receiver. Became the first player to score a touchdown in Skelly Stadium. Scored on the first play from scrimmage in a 26-6 victory over Arkansas on October 4, 1930 at the new stadium. A “rabbit” back whose speed made him a threat from anywhere on the field, he once scored three touchdowns in a span of four minutes in an 89-0 win over Mexico National University in 1931. He led Tulsa to a 28-9-2 record in his four seasons. Was selected to the All-Oklahoma teams of 1931 and 1932.
