A four-year starter on the defensive line at Tulsa, he had career totals of 321 tackles and 20 quarterback sacks for -147 yards. He was an honorable mention All-America selection by the Football News as a senior. In his senior season, he tallied 108 tackles, 11 sacks for -60 yards and 35 quarterback hurries. His best game as a senior came against Kansas State when he compiled 20 tackles, eight solo tackles and two sacks for -17 yards. Went on to have a successful career with the New York Jets before suffering a career-ending neck injury.
