His dominance at quarterback was instrumental in building the Kendall College football program, while leading the team to two undefeated seasons (1916 and 1919). In 1919, he led the nation in scoring with 196 points, earning him positions on the All-Oklahoma and All-Southwest teams. Was a four-year letterman in four sports for Kendall College. To honor his accomplishments, he was inducted into both the Arkansas and the Helms Foundation Halls of Fame.
