Class of 2007 An all-Missouri Valley Conference first team selection in 1966 and 1967, Bob Junko played linebacker for Tulsa and led the Hurricane with an average of 12.7 tackles his junior season. He had 101 tackles and 11 pass breakups in 1966 as a junior. In 1966, his top tackle games came against Cincinnati with 20 and 16 against Wichita State. As a senior, he led a Tulsa defense that was second in the MVC in rushing defense allowing just 84.7 yards and third in total defense allowing 242.3 yards. Junko was one of the finest linebackers in the Midwest. As a sophomore in 1965, he totaled 22 tackles in the final game of the season against Colorado State. |
