Michael Briton was named Academic Coordinator for Academic & Student Services & Tutor/Mentor Coordinator at The University of Tulsa in June 2013. He currently oversees football (offense and special teams), and men's and women's golf.
Britton served the previous year as an academic graduate assistant at Tulsa. He also served as an academic tutor in his final two undergraduate years.
Britton came to Tulsa as a walk-on football student-athlete and later earned a scholarship. He earned three letters as a fullback for the Golden Hurricane, while participating in four Bowl games at Tulsa.
An exercise and sports science major, Britton earned a 3.86 grade point average and made the President's list four times, the Dean's List three times and also was a Conference USA academic medalist in each of his five seasons. He earned the School of Education's Most Exemplary Student Award.
Britton came to Tulsa in 2007 after graduating from Nolan Catholic High School in Fort Worth, Texas.
