Class of 1985
Was a great pitcher who led the Golden Hurricane to two College World Series appearances. Posted a 31-5 career mark with school records of 22 complete games, eight shutouts, 301 innings pitched, 327 strikeouts and a 2.06 ERA. As a senior, he had a 12-1 record with 161 strikeouts and a 1.48 ERA. Was selected to the All-America team in 1971 and won the Jack Charvat Award as the outstanding athlete in the Southwest that same season. Was a two-time All-Missouri Valley Conference performer. Had an illustrious career with the Montreal Expos and was named to the National League All-Star team five times.
