Was one of the early pioneers that helped develop the tradition that characterized Golden Hurricane football. Was a lawyer who began coaching football as an assistant coach to Sam McBirney. Became head coach of the Henry Kendall College football team in 1919 and compiled a 24-3-1 record in three seasons. Had undefeated teams in 1919, 8-0-1; and in 1920 with a 10-0-1 record. The 1919 Kendall team amassed 66 points per game, and the 1920 team averaged 57 points. Beginning in 1915, he served as the school's basketball coach for six seasons.
