Class of 2002 Compiled a 478-199 record for a .706 winning percentage in his 15 seasons as head baseball coach. Led his teams to seven Missouri Valley Conference titles, five second-place finishes and seven District V playoff appearances. Guided the Golden Hurricane to the College World Series twice, finishing as the national runners-up in 1969 and third-place in 1971. Was named the MVC Coach of the Year three times and earned District V Coach of the Year honors twice. His teams were nationally-ranked, and reached No. 1 during the 1972 season. Coached Tulsa to the school's two best seasons ever -- 39-5 in 1969 and 44-6 in 1972. Completed the 1980 season as the fourth winningest coach in collegiate baseball. |
