Amanda Snider was appointed as The University of Tulsa's Director of Spirit Squads/Head Coach in May 2011. Snider prepares, organizes and oversees all aspects of Tulsa's spirit teams. Before her appointment, Snider served part-time for three years as pom coach for the Golden Hurricane spirit team. She also works as the varsity pom coach at Tulsa Union High School and Metro Christian Academy, and is a dance artist & teacher for the Arts& Humanities Council of Tulsa. Before taking over at Tulsa, Snider was the dance team coordinator for three years with Tulsa 66ers of the NBA D-League. Previously, she was a co-owner and dance instructor at the Oklahoma Motion Dance Studio in Owasso, Okla. A 2004 graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Snider was a member of the Sooners' pom squad for four years (2000-04). She received her bachelor's degree in journalism with an emphasis in advertising. Snider was a top-10 finalist for Miss Oklahoma USA in 2003. |
