Class of 1996 Was a swift and elusive halfback who played in the same backfield as TU greats Ivan Grove and John Young. Was equally good whether plunging down the line, tackling, catching a pass or speeding down the field for a touchdown. Played on the undefeated 1919 team and was selected to the All-Oklahoma team in 1918 and 1919. One of the local newspapers wrote: "He is not only the halfback of the year, but he ranks as one of Oklahoma's greatest of all-time and the season's greatest star." Was selected to the all-time University of Tulsa Football Team as voted by fans for the Tulsa Tribune in 1935. |
