Don Tomkalski, the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Communications, started his career at Tulsa in June 1984 as the sports information director, after serving as sports information assistant for the previous five months. Before coming to Tulsa, Tomkalski spent a six-month internship in the publicity office of the NBA's Detroit Pistons. He had also staffed two preseason camps as an Operations Administrative Assistant with the Cleveland Browns. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Tomkalski is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America, Football Writers Association and the U.S. Basketball Writers Association. Tomkalski earned his bachelor's degree in sports administration from St. Thomas (Fla.) University in 1983. |
