Class of 1984 One of the greatest pass receivers in college football history, he set numerous NCAA records for pass receptions in 1964 and `65. Caught 261 passes for 3,343 yards and 32 touchdowns in his career. Had 95 receptions for 1,178 yards and 12 TDs in 1964, and 134 catches for 1,779 yards and 16 TDs in 1965. As a senior, he earned first-team All-America honors and was the 1965 Heisman Trophy runner-up. Was selected Lineman of the Year by the United Press International in 1965. He led Tulsa to two Bluebonnet Bowl appearances. Had his jersey No. 81 retired. After Tulsa, he played with the Miami Dolphins, making three trips to the Super Bowl |
