An outstanding ball carrier and ferocious blocker, he played on three of Tulsa�s bowl teams, including the Sugar Bowl, Orange Bowl and Oil Bowl. Was an All-Missouri Valley Conference selection in 1945. Rushed for 1,589 yards, averaging 5.6 yards per carry in his three seasons. Led the Golden Hurricane in rushing in 1944 and �45. He had a career long 89-yard touchdown run against Southwest Texas State his junior year. Was selected to the All-Orange Bowl team for the game�s first 50 years.
