Boatwright Named To C-USA All-Academic Team

IRVING, Texas - Sophomore middle blocker Carly Boatwright was named to the 2012 Conference USA All-Academic Team, the league announced today.

Boatwright was a 2011 Conference USA Academic Medal Winner and member of the 2011 C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll as she has a 3.901 GPA in arts and sciences. Boatwright is second on the team in blocks per set with a 0.70 average. She collected a career-high 14 kills against Ball State and six blocks against Rice and Tulane.

"We are just very proud of her of doing such a good job in the class room," commented Head Coach Steven McRoberts. "She is a player that is dedicated to volleyball as she puts in extra time in the gym and in film. It is nice to see her hard work pay off." The Golden Hurricane will face SMU tomorrow in the first round of the Conference USA Volleyball Championship at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. First serve is set for noon. The winner of the match will go onto the semifinals held on Saturday at 3 p.m.
