Since the opening of the Donald W. Reynolds Center in 1998, Tulsa’s athletic facilities have undergone a major facelift. New facilities include the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, the Collins Family Softball Complex, the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium, the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest, the Jack Zink Indoor Rowing Center, the Case Athletic Complex and major renovation to H.A. Chapman Stadium.
TU is 75th among national doctoral universities in U. S. News & World Report's 2012 edition of America's Best Colleges. TU's 2011 freshman class had a mean cumulative grade point average of 3.8, and 74 percent graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school classes. Their average ACT was 28.
The Golden Hurricane Club, as the primary fundraising arm of TU Athletics, works to provide every TU student-athlete with the opportunity to realize a world-class athletic and academic experience.
2011-12: (Indoor) Ran at four meets . . . finished ninth at the Conference USA Championship in the 800m run with a mark of 1:55.04 . . . placed second in the 1,000m at the J.D. Martin Invitational (2:29.73) . . . finished second in the 600y run in 1:15.32 . . . (Outdoor) Competed in six meets . . . won the 1,500m run at the Tulsa Duels with a season-best mark of 3:57.03 . . . finished 19th at the league meet in the preliminary round of the 800m (1:55.76) . . . placed fourth in the 800m (1:57.10) at the John Jacobs Invitational, and also finished fifth in the 4x400m relay at the same meet (3:26.66) . . . season-best 800m came at the Arkansas Spring Invitational in an eighth-place effort (1:53.12).
2010-11: (Indoor) Ran in six meets . . . posted top four finishes in the 800m at the KSU Invitational and the Fazoli/Baymont Invitational, with a win in the event coming at the J.D. Martin Invitational . . . season-best mark in the 800 was 1:54.36 at the Conference USA Championship . . . finished fourth at the C-USA meet in the 800 . . . ran the 400m leg in the Distance Medley Relay at the Tyson Invitational where the team won the event in 9:48.07, which was the fourth-fastest mark in school history . . . (Outdoor) Ran primarily the 800 meters and relays . . . named Third Team All-Conference after placing third in the 800 at the Conference USA Championship with a personal-best mark of 1:50.97 . . . was also part of the 4x400m relay team that finished first at the John McDonnell Invitational in a time of 3:25.98.
High School: Earned three letters in track and field at Round Rock High School . . . also lettered all four years in cross country . . . was all-district in track . . . was a team captain and was named all-district his senior year . . . ran a personal-best 15:47 in the 5K and recorded a time of 4:17.5 in the 1,600 meters.
Personal: Majoring in business . . . has two siblings, Braden and Andrea . . . son of David and Nancy Tabb.
In eight years as a member of Conference USA, Tulsa athletic teams have won a league-best 48 conference championships.
