One of the nation's premier throws coaches, Caleb Seal is in his first year as an assistant track and field coach for The University of Tulsa.
Seal has been among the top throws coaches at the high school level in the country and founded the USATF Seal Throwing Club in 2005. His club focuses on instruction and development in the discus, shot put and hammer for all competing age groups.
The Childress, Texas native has developed and coached multiple Oklahoma high school state champions, recording 35 state titles, including 26 state discus champions and nine shot put champions. Under his guidance, 12 Oklahoma athletes have established eight state records, including the overall state record-holder in the girls' discus. Seal has also coached five more athletes who hold class state meet records in Oklahoma.
In addition to his athletes garnering state honors, Seal has coached two high school national champions, two USA Today All-Americans and has had an athlete represent the United States in the Inaugural 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore throwing the discus.
Seal is a certified throws coach and staff member at the John Godina World Throws Camps. He has had years of mentorship under Olympic Throws Coach Mac Wilkins.
He earned his bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Sam Houston State University, while also competing as a thrower on the track and field team. Seal was a three-time Texas state qualifier in throws during his prep career.
Seal and his wife, Tiffany, have three children, Gavin, Payton and Haven and reside in Owasso, Okla.
