Since the opening of the Donald W. Reynolds Center in 1998, Tulsa’s athletic facilities have undergone a major facelift. New facilities include the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, the Collins Family Softball Complex, the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium, the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest, the Jack Zink Indoor Rowing Center, the Case Athletic Complex and major renovation to H.A. Chapman Stadium.
TU is 75th among national doctoral universities in U. S. News & World Report's 2012 edition of America's Best Colleges. TU's 2011 freshman class had a mean cumulative grade point average of 3.8, and 74 percent graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school classes. Their average ACT was 28.
The Golden Hurricane Club, as the primary fundraising arm of TU Athletics, works to provide every TU student-athlete with the opportunity to realize a world-class athletic and academic experience.
2010-11: (Indoor) Ran in three meets . . . season-best performance in the mile was at the J.D. Martin Invitational (4:39.08) . . . posted a season-best time of 9:31.33 at the Fazoli/Baymont Invitational . . . (Outdoor) Finished sixth in the 3,000m at the John Jacobs Invitational in a time of 9:17.06 . . . placed seventh in the 3,000m Steeplechase at the Razorback Invitational (10:06.00).
2009-10: (Indoor) Competed in two meets . . . finished fifth in the 3,000 meters at the Sooner Open with a time of 9:05.88 . . . . finished ninth at the Wichita State Invitational with a time of 9:13.63 . . . (Outdoor) Participated in three events . . . ran a personal-best time of 9:16.29 at the John Jacobs Invitational.
2008-09: (Indoor) Participated in four meets . . . ran the 800m in 2:03.16 at the Razorback Invitational . . . posted a mark of 9:36.52 in the 3,000m . . . (Outdoor) Ran in four events . . . finished ninth in the 3,000m steeplechase at the C-USA Championships with a time of 9:52.77 . . . competed in the 3,000m steeplechase at the Tom Botts Invitational and the Arkansas Invitational . . . a TU Dean's List and C-USA All-Academic honoree.
High School: A three-time letterwinner in track and cross country at Marquette High School . . . earned all-conference and all-district honors in both cross country and track and field as a senior . . . named the Post-Dispatch Scholar Athlete as a senior . . . named to the honor roll all four years . . . finished 14th in his class . . . ran a personal-best in the 800m with a time of 2:02 as a senior at the Patriot Classic . . . ran the 3200m in 10:16 at the conference track meet as a junior . . . set a personal record in the 5k (16:57) at the Fox Warrior Invitational as junior . . . high school head coach was Matt Neinhaus.
Personal: Majoring in biology . . . enjoys playing ultimate frisbee . . . goal in life is to finish an Iron Man triathalon . . . as a child he pretended he was track and field legend Steve Prefontaine . . . son of Terry and Marsha Harris . . . has a younger sister, Becky.
