Since the opening of the Donald W. Reynolds Center in 1998, Tulsa’s athletic facilities have undergone a major facelift. New facilities include the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, the Collins Family Softball Complex, the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium, the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest, the Jack Zink Indoor Rowing Center, the Case Athletic Complex and major renovation to H.A. Chapman Stadium.
TU is 75th among national doctoral universities in U. S. News & World Report's 2012 edition of America's Best Colleges. TU's 2011 freshman class had a mean cumulative grade point average of 3.8, and 74 percent graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school classes. Their average ACT was 28.
The Golden Hurricane Club, as the primary fundraising arm of TU Athletics, works to provide every TU student-athlete with the opportunity to realize a world-class athletic and academic experience.
2011-12: (Indoor) Placed seventh in the mile at the J.D. Martin Invitational with a time of 4:34.90 . . . (Outdoor) Finished sixth in the 10,000m run at the Conference USA Championship with a mark of 31:26.29 . . . posted a career-best time of 30:49.09 at the Drake Relays to place 17th . . . came in 14th at the league meet in the 3,000m Steeplechase with a personal-best time of 9:48.31 . . . ran a career-best time of 8:44.45 in the 3,000m at the Arkansas Spring Invitational to finish ninth . . . placed fourth in the 3K at the John Jacobs Invitational with a time of 8:58.20.
2010-11: (Indoor) Ran in five races during the indoor campaign . . . personal-best in the mile came at the J.D. Martin Invitational (4:31.89) . . . also ran personal bests in the 3,000m (8:50.20 at the Fazoli/Baymont Invitational) and the 5,000m (15:33.91 at the Conference USA Championship) . . . (Outdoor) Competed in six races . . . finished second in the 3,000m at the John Jacobs Invitational in a personal-best 8:48.67 . . . also ran personal bests in the 5,000m (15:42.01 at the John McDonnell Invitational), 10,000m (33:48.26 at the Conference USA Championship) and 3,000m Steeplechase (9:58.54 at the Razorback Invitational).
2009-10: (Indoor) Competed in the Sooner Open and finished seventh in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:12.85 . . . (Outdoor) Took a redshirt.
High School: Was a three-year letterwinner in cross country and a two-year letterwinner in track at Blue Valley Northwest High School . . . a Kansas City Star All-Johnson County cross country honorable mention selection as a senior . . . was a 6A state cross country qualifier in 2008 . . . set a personal-best of 17:10 in the 5K (cross country), 4:47 in the 1,600m and 10:15 in the 3,200m.
Personal: Majoring in mechanical engineering . . . if he could play any movie role it would be Ron Burgundy from "Anchorman" . . . would like to work at NASA . . . has two older sisters, Katie and Jenni . . . son of Patrice Mayer.
