High School: Competed at Saint Paul Highland Park High School and lettered four times in track and field. . . ran a personal-best 10.64 in the 100 meters, 22.34 in the 200 meters, 49.98 in the 400 meters, 14.8 in the 110 meter hurdles and 43.6 in the 300-meter hurdles during his prep career . . . recorded personal-bests of 23'5.50" in the long jump, 46'3" in the triple jump, 44'5" in the shot put and 6'4" in the high jump during his high school career . . . earned All-American and All-State honors in his senior season as well as All-State as a junior . . . earned all-conference twice and all-conference honors twice . . . recorded an 11.11 in the 100 meters, 22.34 in the 200 meters, 49.98 in the 400 meters and had a long jump of 22'0.25" and a triple jump of 44'9" in his junior season . . . recorded a 10.9 in the 100 meters and a 22.8 in the 200 meters in his sophomore season and recorded a 10.9 in the 100-meter dash as a freshman.
