10/01/2012 Olympic Sports Dinner Highlights Accomplishments and ExperiencesHead coaches and student-athletes talked their upcoming seasons and experiences at TU Will Wabaunsee is in his third year as the assistant track and field coach for The University of Tulsa. His responsibilities at TU include coaching athletes in the multi-events, jumps and throws. Wabaunsee joined the Golden Hurricane after serving as the director of fitness at Columbus Middle School in Columbus, Wis. Before moving to Columbus, Wabaunsee served as the men's and women's assistant cross country and track and field coach at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wis., from 2004-09. His duties involved recruiting, team training and team management, coordinating travel and equipment, and helping direct clinics and camps. Wabaunsee also worked as an assistant cross country and track coach at Michigan State University from 1997-04. His areas of responsibility included pole vault, multi-event, high jump, strength, and throwing. Wabaunsee graduated from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan., with a Bachelor of Science degree in home economics and business. He also has a Bachelor of Art degree in physical education and teaching from University of Missouri-Kansas City, which he earned in 1998. He obtained a Master of Science degree in health, physical education and education from Emporia State University in 1993. He also served as an assistant coach at ESU from 1989-95. |
