Since the opening of the Donald W. Reynolds Center in 1998, Tulsa’s athletic facilities have undergone a major facelift. New facilities include the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, the Collins Family Softball Complex, the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium, the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest, the Jack Zink Indoor Rowing Center, the Case Athletic Complex and major renovation to H.A. Chapman Stadium.
TU is 75th among national doctoral universities in U. S. News & World Report's 2012 edition of America's Best Colleges. TU's 2011 freshman class had a mean cumulative grade point average of 3.8, and 74 percent graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school classes. Their average ACT was 28.
The Golden Hurricane Club, as the primary fundraising arm of TU Athletics, works to provide every TU student-athlete with the opportunity to realize a world-class athletic and academic experience.
2011-12: (Indoor) Ran at five meets . . . placed fifth at the Conference USA Championship in the 5,000m run in 17:02.92, which was the third-fastest time in school history . . . also finished 10th at the league meet in the 3K (9:58.51) . . . ran a season-best 3K of 9:52.69 at the Tyson Invitational to finish sixth . . . (Outdoor) Named to the all-C-USA Third Team after finishing third at the league meet in the 10,000m run (35:34.06) . . . season-best 10K of 35:31.59 was good for 15th at the Mt. SAC Relay's and fifth in school history . . . ran the 3K twice, finishing second at both the Tulsa Duels (10:12.81) and the John Jacobs Invitational (10:33.82) . . . placed 10th at the league meet in the 5,000m run in 17:16.24.
2010-11: (Indoor) Competed in five meets . . . won the 3,000m at both the Tyson Invitational (9:53.11) and the Fazoli/Baymont Invitational (9:53.54) . . . finished sixth at the Conference USA Championship in the 5,000 (17:18.86 - fifth-fastest time in school history) and eighth in the 3,000 (10:00.25) . . . placed fourth in the Mile (5:06.70) at the KSU Invitational . . . (Outdoor) Did not compete.
High School: Was on the N2 Junior Cross Country Team and the N2 Elite Duathlon Team . . . was the Nelson Cross Country Champion in the 3,000 meter and the 1,500 meter . . . placed third at the N2 Nationals Road Race and was fourth in Cross Country . . . placed second in the 5K and third in both the 3K and the Steeplechase at N2 Nationals.
Personal: Majoring in biology . . . favorite professional cross country/track athlete is Kimberly Smith . . . hobbies include swimming, cycling and running . . . biggest sports thrill was winning the N2 duathlon nationals . . . has a younger sister, Polly . . . daughter of David and Janette Wilcox.
