NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Junior Chris O'Hare and freshman Chase Sammons both shattered their own school records on the first day of the Meyo Invitational Friday at Loftus Sports Center. O'Hare won the 1,000m run and broke the facility record in a time of 2:20.99, breaking his school record by more than two seconds (2:24.20). O'Hare's mark is currently the third-fastest time in the nation this indoor season, and the meet record he broke had stood since 2003. Freshman David Annett also competed in the 1,000m, finishing 27th in 2:32.92. "Chris ran a great race today," Tulsa Head Coach Steve Gulley said. "It was a great day for Tulsa all the way around. I'm also happy with how Chase is performing in his freshman season. We still have one day to go here in Indiana, and I hope to see some positive results from everybody tomorrow." Juniors Kolton Taylor and Alex Sementelli both competed in three events, with Taylor posting a personal-best in the long jump (6.66m) and Sementelli knotching his season best in the 60m hurdles (8.82). Tulsa's Distance Medley Relay team finished fourth in 10:05.01. The team consisted of senior Tom Marshall, sophomores Andrew Jameson and Danny Thater, and freshman Nathan Barrett.
