Tulsa Women's Track Team Sets Two School Records at Iowa State Classic

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa men's and women's track teams set two school records and five personal-bests in the first day of competition at the Iowa State Classic at the Lied Recreation Facility in Ames, Iowa on Friday night. TU will continue competition tomorrow at the ISU Classic.
Golden Hurricane junior-transfer Stephanie Jeffers posted a new personal-best and school record in the women's weight throw with a throw of 16.91-meters (55'-5.75"). She surpassed her previous school record of 54'-2'' set at the Missouri Invitational on January 13th.
The Women's Distance Medley, consisting of freshman Dawn Nagazina, junior Shameka Holloway, and freshmen April Montgomery and Alex Becker, set a new school record with a time of 11:42.25. The TU four-some exceeded the previous school record set earlier this season by nearly 13 seconds.
Junior Chantelle Willard's time of 24.62 in the 200-meter dash was a personal best and earned her fourth-place on Tulsa's Indoor Records list. She finished in 17th-place in a field of 130 runners.
Also setting personal-bests was freshman Grace Steinert with her time of 10.35 in the 60-meter hurdles and jump of 5.26m (17'-3.25'') in the long jump.
On the men's side, sophomore Jason Schweitzer posted a personal-best in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 15:41.99
