FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Senior long distance runner Emmett Cookson won the men's 3,000-meter run in the second day of the Tyson Invitational on Saturday.

Cookson ran in a time of 8:22.31, followed by Adam Roderique, who finished sixth with a time of 8:36.48.

Adam Palamar finished sixth in the 3,000-meter championship with a time of 8:26.32, while Tulsa's distance medley team of Brian Tabb, Isaac Sanders, Simon Greiner and Elijah Silva finished sixth with a time of 9:49.91.

Alex Lybarger led TU with a 23rd finish in the shot put with a throw of 14.65 meters, followed by Colt Johnson, who finished 31st with a throw of 9.06 meters.

Outgo Ananaba finished 42nd in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.02 seconds, followed by Andre Brown with a time of 23.16 seconds.

On the women's side, Tulsa's distance medley team of Olivia O'Hare, Cydney Fogle, Katherine Camp and Emily Dunn finished sixth with a time of 3:45.02, which is the second fastest time in school history.

Clara Langley finished fourth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:52.01, followed by Janessa Dunn, who finished 10th with a time of 9:59.01.

Tulsa's 4x400-meter relay team of Roos-Sanne Claassen, Audrey Jean-Baptiste, Alex Lyons and Camp finished with a time of 3:45.02.

Elizabeth Lothamer finished 23rd in the shot put with a throw of 10.30 meters.

The Golden Hurricane takes a week off before heading to Birmingham, Ala., for the Conference USA Championships from Feb. 28 - March 1.
