Lybarger Won the Hammer Throw and Finished Second in Shot Put at OBU Open Saturday

Shawnee, Okla. - University of Tulsa track and field thrower sophomore Alex Lybarger threw the second-longest shot put in school history at the OBU Open on Saturday.
Lybarger threw the shot put 16.62 meters (54-6.50), which beats his personal-best of 51-0.25, which was set in the Tulsa Duels last weekend, to finish second in the event.
Lybarger won the hammer throw with a throw of 55.38 meters (181-8.50), which is a personal-best.
Junior Hartly Carlisle threw a season-best of 43.12 meters (141-5.75), which is the fourth best in school history, to finish fourth in the event.
The Golden Hurricane also competed in the Texas Relays on Saturday at the Mike A. Myers Stadium. Tulsa's 4x200-meter relay finished 10th in the final day of the relays.
The Golden Hurricane returns to action on Saturday, April 5 at the Arkansas Spring Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.
