Camp Sets a School-Record in 800-Meters at Michael Johnson Classic

WACO, Texas - Senior Katherine Camp of the University of Tulsa women's track and field team, set a school record with a time of 2:05.21 in the 800-meter run at the Michael Johnson Classic.
On the men's side, Tulsa's 4x440-yard relay team of senior Julian Frazier, sophomore Bryce Robinson, freshman Otugo Ananaba and senior Andrew Jameson set a school record in the event with a time of 3:15.94.
Ananaba led TU with a fifth place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.88, while freshman Paul Akintade finished 14th with a personal-best time of 11.23, while Robinson finished fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 20.86.
Jameson finished 10th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.49 and sophomore David Anderson finished 17th with a personal-best time of 52.92, while freshman Elijah Silva won the 800-meter run evening session with a personal-best time of 1:51.27.
Freshman Isaac Sanders finished fifth in the 800-meter run afternoon session with a personal-best time of 1:56.38, while Frazier finished fourth with a personal-best time of 53.52.
Senior Phil Royer led TU with a third-place finish with a personal-best time of 3:56.26, while sophomore Jake McDonnell finished sixth with a time of 3:58.51, senior Brian Tabb finished ninth with a time of 4:04.44 and freshman Adam Roderique finished 10th with a time of 4:12.22.
Junior Aaron Thornburg led TU with a fifth-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:00.30, freshman Kirk Smith finished sixth with a personal-best time of 10:03.08 and freshman Nick Criser finished seventh with a time of 10:05.17.
Akintade led Tulsa with a ninth-place finish in the long jump with a personal-best distance of 6.51 meters (21-4.25) and junior Colt Johnson finished 12th with a distance of 6.08 meters (19-11.5). Johnson finished 13th in the discus throw with a distance of 25.70 meters (84-4).
On the women's side, senior Audrey Jean-Baptiste finished sixth in the 400-meter dash with a personal-best time of 53.99, which ties for the fourth fastest time in school history. Freshman Roos-Sanne Claassen set a personal-best time of 1:01.24 in the 400-meter hurdles in the evening session, which is the fourth fastest time in school history.
Freshman Cydney Fogle won the 400-meter hurdles afternoon session with a personal-best time of 1:03.63 and freshman Kendall Cox finished fourth with a personal-best time of 1:05.85, while freshman Katie Killeen finished ninth in the 800-meter rush afternoon session with a personal-best time of 2:24.42.
Tulsa's 4x440-yard relay team of Camp, Claassen, Jean-Baptiste and sophomore Alex Lyons finished fifth with a time of 3:46.61, which is the second fastest time in school history.
Freshman Lauren Thomas led Tulsa with an 11th-place finish with a personal-best time of 25.44, while Lyons finished 18th with a time of 26.34 and freshman Elizabeth Lothamer finished 22nd with a personal-best time of 27.74.
Junior Brandi Kreig led the Golden Hurricane with a fifth-place finish in the 1,500-meter run with a personal-best time of 4:33.21, while freshman Olivia Lopez finished seventh with a personal-best time of 4:34.21 and sophomore Olivia O'Hare finished 11th with a personal-best time of 4:37.22.
Lothamer finished 14th in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.95 and in the shot put with a distance of 9.27 meters (30-5).
The Golden Hurricane travels to Des Moines, Iowa for the Drake Relays from Wednesday, April 23 until Sunday, April 27.
