Complete Results NEW ORLEANS, La. - The University of Tulsa track and field teams completed competition on the first day of the 2012 Conference USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Tad Gormley Stadium. The men sit in second place with 15 points through two scored events behind first-place UTEP (25), while the TU women are in seventh with six points. "We left some points on the table on the guys side today, but we hope we can make it up over the next two days," Tulsa Head Coach Steve Gulley said. "The multi's are going solid at this point, and we're looking for them to keep it going tomorrow." MEN Freshman Chase Sammons placed 10th in the hammer throw with a mark of 43.69m. Junior Alex Sementelli sits in fifth place in the decathlon after the first five events with 2,561 points. He finished second in the 400m (51.57), fourth in the shot put (11.67m) and fifth in both the 100m dash (11.56) and long jump (6.75m). WOMEN "Josie placing third was a pleasant surprise today," Gulley said. "We were really happy with how she ran, and we think her performance will give us some momentum heading into tomorrow." Freshman Hartly Carlisle placed 19th in the hammer throw with a mark of 36.32m. Junior Carolin Imhof sits in 11th after the first four events of the heptathlon with 2,836 points. She finished third in the shot put with a mark of 10.97m to earn 593 points, and she was fourth in the 100m hurdles in 14.30 to pick up 936 points. The Golden Hurricane will continue action in New Orleans over the next two days.
