Friday's Results Get Acrobat Reader

HOUSTON, Texas - Sophomore Alex Lybarger of the University of Tulsa track and field team finished third in the men's hammer throw with a distance of 56.03 meters (183-11) in day two of the Conference USA Championships on Friday.

After three events scored on the men's and women's side each, the Golden Hurricane is third on the women's side with 17 points and sixth on the men's side with 10 points.

On the men's side, junior Colt Johnson finished the decathlon on Friday, finishing in 13th place with 4,953 points. Johnson finished second in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:52.05, seventh in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.10, 10th in the pole vault with a distance of 3.30 meters (10-10), 12th in the javelin throw with a distance of 28.10 meters (92-2) and 13th in the discus throw with a distance of 24.01 meters (78-9).

Senior Dennis Hodapp finished fifth in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 31:24.59.

On the women's side, the Golden Hurricane placed three runners in the top-five in the 10,000-meter run. Freshman Clara Langley finished second with a time of 35:39.04, while junior Natasha Cockram finished fourth with a time of 36:16.75 and sophomore Janessa Dunn finished fifth with a time of 36:22.01

Freshman Elizabeth Lothamer finished the heptathlon on Friday, finishing in 13th place with 3,750 points. Lothamer finished sixth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:30.09 and 13th in the long jump with a distance of 4.46 meters (14-7.75) and in the javelin throw with a distance of 16.71 meters (54-10).

Saturday's field events start at 3 p.m. with the women's long jump and running events start at 5 p.m. with the men's 1,500-meter run preliminary round.
