Teeters Moves On To 200-Meter Semifinals At NCAA West Prelims

AUSTIN, Texas -
Freshman John Teeters advanced to the 200-meter semifinals at the 2013 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field West Prelims on Friday at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
Teeters clocked a time of 21.26 to earn the 20th best time among the 48 runners as the top-24 advanced to the semifinals.
Teeters also finished 20th in the semifinals of the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.68 after running a school-record time of 10.27 yesterday.
Sophomore Chase Sammons earned an 18th-place showing in the shot put with a heave of 56 feet, 9.5 inches (17.31m) after finishing 14th yesterday in the discus.
On the women’s side, junior Katherine Camp was 24th in the 800-meter semifinals in 2:10.29.
Senior Erin Huddleston finished 31st in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:32.46 in a race that didn’t start until after midnight due to a six-hour rain delay earlier in the day.
Teeters will run in the semifinals of the 200-meter dash tomorrow. Also running tomorrow for TU will be Tim Rackers in the 5,000-meters and the Tulsa men’s 4x100-meter relay squad.
