O'Hare Earns All-America Distinction in 1,500

Live Results : Live Video : Championship Information DES MOINES, Iowa - Sophomore Chris O'Hare finished 11th in the National Finals of the 1,500-meter run in a time of 3:47.61 at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championship Saturday afternoon at Drake Stadium and Jim Duncan Track.He earned USTFCCCA Second Team All-America honors for his efforts, adding the distinction to his First Team All-America laurel he received in the mile at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships earlier this year. O'Hare stayed in the middle of the pack for the majority of the race, but began creeping up towards the front in the last 800. He maneuvered his way into the lead heading into the final lap, but he slipped back to 11th before crossing the finish line. Matthew Centrowitz of Oregon won the National Championship in 3:42.54, and Dorian Ulrey of Arkansas placed second. O'Hare joins senior Paula Whiting as Tulsa's two All-Americans, as Whiting earned a spot on the second team by finishing 13th in the 5,000 Friday.
