Track and Field Concludes Season in Semifinals of the NCAA Championships Thursday

Eugene, Oregon - The University of Tulsa track and field team concluded its season on Thursday in the final day of the semifinals at Hayward Field as junior Danny Thater finished eighth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and sophomore Bryce Robinson finished 16th in the 200-meter dash.
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase race, the top five in each of the two heats, followed by the next two best times advanced to the final round. Thater finished eighth in heat No. 1 with a time of 8:46.74, missing the cut to the finals, but finished ahead of the winner in heat No. 2 by two seconds.
Robinson also failed to advance to the final round, finishing in 16th place overall, fifth in heat No. 3, with a time of 20.97. Robinson needed to be in the top two of his heat or in the next two fastest times.
Robinson and Thater were named on the All-American Second Team. During the championship, the Golden Hurricane had four All-American Second Team members with Robinson in the 100 and 200 meters dashes, Thater in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on the men's side and Katherine Camp in the 800-meter run on the women's side.
