Columbia, Mo. - The University of Tulsa men's and women's track team will begin the 2005 indoor campaign at the Missouri Invitational in Columbia, Mo. on Saturday, January 15. Competition will begin at 4 p.m. with field events and running events will begin at 6 p.m. Teams scheduled to attend are Lincoln (Mo.), Oral Roberts, Drake, Tulsa, UMKC, Missouri Valley, and Missouri-Rolla.

The Golden Hurricane team features a solid mix of veteran leadership and youthful enthusiasm. Seniors Melanie Hardy, returning Western Athletic Conference indoor and outdoor champion in the 800-meter, as well as Jamal Bogle, the 2003 WAC outdoor champion in the 110-meter hurdles, will be looked upon for leadership.

Sophomore Cory Ray is hoping to defend his 2004 WAC indoor title at 60-meters. The Golden Hurricane coaching staff look for freshman Erin Fogarty to make an immediate impact on the women's team in the middle distance hurdles. Fogarty was one of the top-10 ranked female hurdlers her senior year of high school.

Tulsa will appear in six indoor meets as well as the WAC Championships in Boise, Idaho, February 23-26, and the NCAA Championships in Fayetteville, Ark, March 11-12.
