The Tulsa track and field teams saw solid results today as the sprinters wrapped up competition at the Frank Sevigne Invitational in Lincoln, Neb., while the rest of the day completed action at the Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind.

Meyo Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Tulsa distance crew tallied four top-10 performances in invitational events during the final day of the Meyo Invitational on Saturday at the Loftus Sports Center.

In the Ryan Shay 3,000-meters race, Marc Scott and Tim Rackers finished eighth and ninth, respectively. Scott crossed the line in 8:13.25, while Rackers earned a time of 8:13.33.

Paulo Pinherio competed in the famous Meyo Mile, where the senior claimed 10^th place clocking in at 4:06.51.

Chase Sammons finished seventh in the shot put with a heave of 54 feet, 8 inches.

On the women's side, Melanie Hughes was 10^th in the Meyo Mile with a time of 4:58.15.

Teammate Sarah Macpherson placed 11^th in the 3,000 -meter invitational finishing in 9:38.35, the third fastest time in school history, while Erin Huddleston was 14^th in 9:40.34.

Frank Sevigne Invitational

LINCOLN, Neb. - The Tulsa track and field team wrapped up a successful weekend at the Frank Sevigne Invitational with some impressive performances on Saturday.

On the women's side, Katherine Camp finished third in the 800-meter invitational event clocking in a 2:11.76, while Done Vermaak claimed seventh in 2:15.84.

Tulsa will compete next weekend at the Tyson Invitational hosted by Arkansas on February 8 and 9.
