IRVING, Texas - Sophomore runner Rachel Baptista was named Conference USA Female Track Athlete of the Week, announced by the league on Tuesday.

Baptista finished second in the 5,000-meter run at the Razorback Invitational on Friday with a conference best time of 16:27.64.

The Austin, Texas native's time was the second fastest in school history and the 10th fastest time in the country, according to tfrrs.org.

This is her first indoor C-USA weekly award in her career.

The Golden Hurricane returns to action on from Feb. 14-15 for the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.
