O'Hare Named C-USA Indoor Track Athlete Of The Year

IRVING, Texas - Chris O'Hare was named the Conference USA Male Indoor Track Athlete of the Year, the league announced today.
O'Hare ran in nine races during the 2011 season, winning all of them except one when he was the runner-up in the mile at the NCAA Championships. His time of 3:59.62 was just .13 seconds off the top mark and he was named a first-team USTFCCCA All-American for his efforts.
During the season, O'Hare established school records in the mile (3:56.48) and the 1,000m (2:24.20). A native of Edinburgh, Scotland, he also won C-USA titles in the 800m with a championship meet record of 1:51.06 and the mile (4:07.13). His fastest mile of 3:56.48 was fourth-best in the world.
Tulsa kicked off the outdoor campaign this past weekend at the Tulsa Duels, and the team will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., on April 2 for the Razorback Invitational.
