Track and Field Travels to Texas for Texas Relays This Weekend

TULSA, Okla. - The University of Tulsa track and field team travels to Austin, Texas for the Texas Relays starting on Thursday and ending on Saturday.
On the men's side, freshman Otugo Ananaba and sophomore Bryce Robinson are competing in the 100-meter dash. Ananaba ran a 10.74 in the 100-meter last Saturday at the Tulsa Duels to finish third, while Robinson has not competed this outdoor season in the 100-meter dash. Robinson's personal-best is 10.43, which is the fourth fastest time in school history. The 100-meter dash preliminary round is scheduled for 9:35 a.m. on Friday, while the final round is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. on Saturday.
Sophomore David Anderson and senior Julian Frazier are competing in the 400-meter hurdles. Anderson placed sixth in the 400-meter hurdles at the Tulsa Duels with a time of 59.51, while Frazier finished second with a time of 55.35. The 400-meter hurdles preliminary round is schedule for 5 p.m. on Thursday, while the final round is schedule for 6:50 p.m. on Friday.
The Golden Hurricane is also running in the 4x200-meter relay and in the 4x400-meter relay. The 4x200-meter relay is schedule for noon on Saturday. The 4x400-meter relay preliminary round is schedule for 9:35 a.m. on Friday and the final round is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. on Saturday.
On the women's side, freshman Lauren Thomas is competing in the 100-meter dash. This will be the first time that she will be running in the event this outdoor season. The 100-meter dash preliminary round is scheduled for 9:35 a.m. on Friday and the final round is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. on Saturday.
Freshmen Roos-Sanne Claassen and Cydney Fogle are competing in the 400-meter hurdles. Claassen finished third in the 400-meter hurdles at the Tulsa Duels with a time of 1:05.08, but Fogle will be competing in the event for the first time. The 400-meter hurdles preliminary round is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the final round is schedule for 6:50 p.m. on Friday.
The Golden Hurricane is also competing in the 4x400-meter relay and in the 1,600 sprint medley. The 4x400-meter relay preliminary round is scheduled for 9:35 a.m. on Friday, while the final round is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. on Saturday. The 1,600 sprint medley is scheduled for 5:20 p.m. on Friday.
Tulsa is coming off four wins at the Tulsa Duels with Robinson winning the 200-meter dash (21.01), sophomore Isaac Sanders (50.14) winning the 400-meter dash, freshman Elijah Silva (1:51.85) winning the 800-meter run on the men's side and sophomore Olivia O'Hare (4:38.81) winning the 1,500-meter run on the women's side.
The Golden Hurricane also recorded five second places finishes with Frazier's mark of 55.35 in the 400-meter hurdles and junior Danny Thater's mark of 5:59.53 in the 2,000-meter on the men's side. On the women's side, senior Katherine Camp finished second in the 400-meter with a time of 55.95, freshman Clara Langely finished second in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:40.75 and freshman Stacie Taylor finished second in the 2,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 7:00.69.
Tulsa also recorded three third place finishes with Ananaba's mark of 10.74 seconds in the 100-meter dash on the men's side and on the women's side, junior Natasha Cockram finished third in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:12.24 and Claassen's mark of 1:05.08 in the 400-meter hurdles.
The Golden Hurricane continues its outdoor season on Saturday, April 5 at the Arkansas Spring Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.
