Track and Field Travels to California and Texas This Weekend

TULSA, Okla. - The University of track and field team is sending three runners for the 3,000-meter steeplechase in Walnut, Calif., for the Mt. SAC Relays starting on Thursday and ending on Saturday and also travels to Waco, Texas for the Michael Johnson Classic on Saturday.
The 3,000-meter steeplechase begins on Thursday at 6:00 p.m., while the 3,000-meter steeplechase elite is scheduled for Friday at 7:22 p.m. Freshman Stacie Taylor and senior Emmett Cookson are competing in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, while junior Danny Thater is competing in the 3,000-meter steeplechase elite.
Thater's personal-best time is 9:01.25, which is the third fastest time in school history, while Cookson's personal-best time is 9:20.70 and Taylor's personal-best time is 11:12.47.
The rest of the track and field team is traveling for the Michael Johnson Classic with field events starting at 9:30 a.m. and running events starting at 1 p.m.
Sophomore Bryce Robinson is competing in the 200-meter dash and his personal-best time is 20.30, which is the fastest time in school history.
Senior Andrew Jameson and sophomore David Anderson are competing in the 400-meter, while senior Julian Frazier is competing in the 400-meter hurdles. Jameson is running the event for the first time this season and his personal-best time is 49.79, while Anderson is running the event for the first time in his collegiate career and Frazier's personal-best is 53.95 seconds.
Sophomore Isaac Sanders and freshman Elijah Silva are competing in the 800-meter run with Silva's personal-best time is 1:51.68 and Sanders is competing in the event for the first time in his collegiate career.
The Golden Hurricane has four runners in the 1,500 meters with seniors Brian Tabb and Phil Royer, sophomore Jake McDonnell and freshman Adam Roderique. Tabb's personal-best time is 3:55.48, McDonnell's personal-best time is 3:57.20 and Roderique's personal-best time is 4:07.12. Royer is running in the event for the first time with Tulsa.
Roderique is also running in the 5,000-meter run for the first time in his collegiate career, while Tulsa has three runners in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with junior Aaron Thornburg and freshmen Nick Criser and Kirk Smith. Thornburg's personal-best is 9:28.67, while Criser's personal-best time is 9:27.38 and Smith is competing in the event for the first time in his collegiate career.
Tulsa has two teams in the 4x400-yard relay with Frazier, Robinson, Ananaba and Jameson on one team and Akintade, Anderson, junior Colt Johnson and Sanders on another team.
Johnson is also competing in the high jump, long jump and the discus throw. Johnson's personal-best in the high jump is 1.60 meters, long jump is 6.62 meters and discus throw is 27.15 meters.
Akintade is also competing in the long jump with his personal-best is 6.37 meters.
On the women's side, the Golden Hurricane has three runners in the 200 meters with freshmen Elizabeth Lothamer and Lauren Thomas and sophomore Alex Lyons. Lyon's personal-best time is 26.19, while Thomas' personal-best time is 26.07 and Lothamer is running in the event for the first time in her collegiate career.
Lothamer is also competing in the 100-meter hurdles, high jump and shot put. Lothamer's personal-best in the 100-meter hurdles is 15.73 seconds and 9.30 meters in the shot put. This will be the first time competing in the high jump.
Senior Audrey Jean-Baptiste is running in the 400 meters, while senior Katherine Camp and freshman Katie Killeen are competing in the 800-meter run. Jean-Baptiste's personal-best time is 55.42, while Camp's personal-best time is 2:06.38 and Killeen is competing in the event for the first time in her collegiate career.
Junior Brandi Kreig, sophomore Olivia O'Hare and freshman Olivia Lopez are competing in the 1,500-meter run. Krieg's personal-best time is 4:36.92, while O'Hare's personal-best time is 4:38.81 and Lopez's personal-best time is 4:45.51.
The Golden Hurricane has five runners in the 3,000-meter run with junior Natasha Cockram, sophomore Janessa Dunn, senior Josie Wilcox and freshmen Alyssa Jones and Danielle Madearis. Cockram's personal-best time is 9:53.95, while Wilcox's personal-best time is 10:11.75, Dunn's personal-best time is 10:04.50 and Jones' personal-best time is 10:25.81. Madearis is competing in the event for the first time in her collegiate career.
Freshmen Roos-Sanne Claassem, Kendall Cox and Cydney Fogle are competing in the 400-meter hurdles. Claassen's personal-best time is 1:02.27, which is the fifth fastest time in school history, while Fogle's personal-best is 1:04.13 and Cox's personal-best is 1:06.81.
Tulsa has two 4x400-yard relay teams of Camp, Claassen, Jean-Baptiste and Lyons on one team and Thomas, Fogle, Cox and Lothamer on another team.
The Golden Hurricane travels to Des Moines, Iowa for the Drake Relays from Wednesday, April 23 until Sunday, April 27.
