CAMP NAMED C-USA FEMALE TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

IRVING, Texas - Senior Katherine Camp was named the Conference USA Female Track and Field Athlete of the Week, announced by the league on Tuesday.
Camp broke the school record in the 800-meter run at the Payton Jordan Invitational in Stanford, Calif., on Sunday with a 2:04.49 to win heat No. 4 by over a second.
The Hamilton, New Zealand native previously held the school record of 2:05.21, which she set in the Michael Johnson Classic in Waco, Texas on Saturday, April 19.
Her time on Sunday is the 12th fastest time in the country and the fastest time in the league by over five seconds, according to tfrrs.org.
This is her first career outdoor weekly award.
The Golden Hurricane takes a week off before traveling to Houston, Texas for the Conference USA Championships from May 15-18.
