Track and Field Qualifies for Seven Events in NCAA West Regional

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The University of Tulsa track and field team qualified for seven events for the NCAA West Regional from May 28-31 in Fayetteville, Ark.
On the men's side, sophomore Bryce Robinson qualified for both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, while senior Julian Frazier qualified for the 400-meter dash, freshman Elijah Silva qualified for the 800-meter run and junior Danny Thater qualified for the 3,000-meter steeplechase. On the women's side, senior Audrey Jean-Baptiste qualified for the 400-meter dash, while senior Katherine Camp qualified for the 800-meter dash.
Robinson holds the school record in both the 100 meters and 200 meters dashes. The Edmond, Okla., native has posted the fifth fastest time in the west region, tied for ninth overall, in the 100 meters with a time of 10.15, set in the John McDonnell Invitational on April 11. Robinson's fastest time in the 200 meters is 20.62, set in the Arkansas Twilight on May 2, and is the 26th fastest time overall and 10th in the west regional.
Frazier's fastest time is 46.98, which is the second fastest time in school history, was set in the Arkansas Spring Invitational on April 4. His time is the 43rd fastest time in the west regional and the 81st fastest time overall.
Silva's fastest time is 1:49.21, which is the fourth fastest time in school history, was set at the Arkansas Twilight meet. His time is tied for 51st overall and tied for 18th fastest in the west regional.
Thater's fastest time is 8:59.13, which is the third fastest time in school history, was set in the Conference USA Championship on May 15. His time is the 37th fastest time in the west regional and the tied for 75th overall.
Jean-Baptiste's fastest time of 53.23, which was set at the Conference USA Championships, is tied for the 42nd fastest time in the country and the 26th fastest time in the west regional. Her time ranks as the second fastest time in school history.
Camp's fastest time of 2:04.49, which was set at the Payton Jordan Invitational, is tied for the ninth fastest time in the west regional and tied for 15th overall. Camp's time is the fastest in school history and won the C-USA Outdoor 800-meter title.
The top-12 in each event in both of the regionals qualifies for the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., from June 11-14.
