IRVING, Texas -

Seniors Erin Huddleston and Paulo Pinheiro, along with sophomore Tim Rackers were named to the Conference USA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the league announced today.

Huddleston, the 2013 Conference USA Champion in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, holds a 3.88 grade point average in exercise and sports science. Huddleston shattered the school record with a time of 10:25.89 at the league meet to win the event. Huddleston also placed fifth in the 5,000-meters, clocking a season-best time of 16:41.76. Huddleston is a four-time C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal winner.

Pinheiro is a three-time C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll member with a 3.33 GPA in mathematics. He won the 10,000-meters at the C-USA Outdoor Championships in 30:27.25, and was fifth in the 5,000-meters in 14:41.30. During the league’s indoor meet, he claimed second-place showings in the 3,000 and 5,000-meter races.

Rackers has been on the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll and has been an Academic Medal Recipient both of his years at Tulsa. He earned fourth-place finishes in the 3,000 (8:17.70) and 5,000 (14:26.28) at the C-USA Indoor Track Championships as the Golden Hurricane finished as the runner-up at the meet. Rackers placed fourth at the C-USA Outdoor Championships in the 10,000-meters (30:40.52) and seventh in the 5,000-meters (14:42.56).
