NEW ORLEANS - Senior Carl Stones was named to the USTFCCCA All-America First Team for his efforts at the 2012 NCAA Division I Track & Field Championships, the organization announced today.

Stones becomes the first men's track & field performer in school history to earn First Team All-America honors during the outdoor campaign.

He finished eighth in the finals of the 3,000m Steeplechase with a mark of 8:46.67, and he earned one point for Tulsa in the overall national team standings.

Junior Chris O'Hare landed on the USTFCCCA All-America Second Team for the second-straight year. He earned the distinction after finishing 12th in the finals of the 1,500 meters in a time of 3:51.64.

The three total combined laurels for O'Hare and Stones are the only men's outdoor All-America honors in school history.
