IRVING, Texas - Senior All-American Carl Stones was named the co-Conference USA Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year, the league announced today. The senior also won the event at the 2012 C-USA Outdoor Championships for the second-straight year as he broke the meet record with a time of 8:53.39. The Round Rock, Texas, native earned 18 points for Tulsa at the league meet as he won the steeplechase and finished second in the 5,000m. He also owns the school record in the steeplechase of 8:43.79, which he set earlier this season at the Mt. SAC Relays.
