Mackenzie Ayer joined the Tulsa cross country/track and field coaching staff as a graduate assistant in August 2011. She played for the TU women's soccer team from 2008-10, and she earned three letters during her time with the Golden Hurricane.

TULSA - A three-year letterwinner . . . started 36 of 38 games played . . . transferred to Tulsa from Marquette prior to her junior campaign . . . helped the Golden Hurricane post 11 shutouts in her career.

REDSHIRT SENIOR (2010) - Started four of five games played . . . did not play until the final five games of the season while waiting on NCAA clearance . . . had one shot against UAB.

SENIOR (2009) - Started all 18 games played . . . attempted two shots, both of which were on goal . . . helped post shutouts over Arkansas, Louisiana-Monroe, New Mexico, Oral Roberts, Houston, Rice and Southern Miss . . . named as TU's "Player of the Match" against Colorado College.

JUNIOR (2008) - Started 14 of 15 games played . . . attempted seven shots from her defender position . . . helped post shutouts over Southern, Arkansas, Colorado College and Houston . . . was selected as TU's "Player of the Match" against Missouri State, East Carolina and UCF.

PRIOR TO TULSA - Transferred to Tulsa from Marquette . . . played in 13 games at Marquette over two years . . . was a two-time selection to the Dean's List and the Big East Conference Academic All-Star Team . . . was a four-year letterwinner at St. Thomas Aquinas High School . . . scored five career goals from her defender position . . . led St. Thomas Aquinas to the 2005 and '06 Kansas State Championship . . . was a two-time first-team Kansas City all-metro, first-team all-state and first-team all-Sun Country selection . . . twice earned Kansas State Tournament Defensive MVP and Eastern Kansas League Defensive Player of the Year honors . . . was the Sun Country Defensive Player of the year as a senior . . . also earned all-state academic honors.

PERSONAL - Earned a degree from The University Tulsa in psychology and communication . . . born May 24, 1988 . . . one of three children of Dennis and Virginia Ayer . . . was selected as a C-USA Academic Medalist and was named to the Tulsa President's List as a junior . . . as a senior, was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VI second team, the All-C-USA Academic first team, the Tulsa Dean's List and was a C-USA Academic Medalist . . . was tabbed to the Tulsa Dean's List and was a C-USA All-Academic Medalist as a redshirt senior.
