Since the opening of the Donald W. Reynolds Center in 1998, Tulsa’s athletic facilities have undergone a major facelift. New facilities include the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, the Collins Family Softball Complex, the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium, the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest, the Jack Zink Indoor Rowing Center, the Case Athletic Complex and major renovation to H.A. Chapman Stadium.
TU is 75th among national doctoral universities in U. S. News & World Report's 2012 edition of America's Best Colleges. TU's 2011 freshman class had a mean cumulative grade point average of 3.8, and 74 percent graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school classes. Their average ACT was 28.
The Golden Hurricane Club, as the primary fundraising arm of TU Athletics, works to provide every TU student-athlete with the opportunity to realize a world-class athletic and academic experience.
REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2011): Was the lone member of the Golden Hurricane to participate in all seven events . . . finished 19th at the Conference USA Championship with a PR 5K of 18:00.0 . . . named to the all-C-USA Third Team . . . named the Conference USA Freshman of the Year . . . ran a personal-best 6K of 22:44 at NCAA Pre-Nationals to finish 116th . . . placed 30th at the OSU Jamboree (18:13.77) . . . placed 109th at the NCAA Midwest Regional (23:13.02) . . . finished third at the Oral Roberts Duel (11:40.21), 10th at the Houston Duel (11:32) and 13th at the Hurricane Festival (11:40) . . . finished second on the team at the ORU Duel, was third on the team at the OSU Jamboree and was TU's fifth finisher at four other meets.
FRESHMAN (2010): Did not compete during her freshman campaign.
HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered in track and field all four years at Kickapoo High School . . . was the Ozark Conference champion in the 800 meters and the 1,600 meters . . . her cross country team took second in state senior year and fourth junior year . . . placed third and fourth in the 800 meters at the state meet . . . was named first-team all academic in the conference . . . her personal record in the 5K was 18:48 . . . daughter of Steve and Rochelle Collette . . . has a sister, Shannon, and two brothers, Stefan and Anthony.
