Since the opening of the Donald W. Reynolds Center in 1998, Tulsa’s athletic facilities have undergone a major facelift. New facilities include the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, the Collins Family Softball Complex, the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium, the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest, the Jack Zink Indoor Rowing Center, the Case Athletic Complex and major renovation to H.A. Chapman Stadium.
TU is 75th among national doctoral universities in U. S. News & World Report's 2012 edition of America's Best Colleges. TU's 2011 freshman class had a mean cumulative grade point average of 3.8, and 74 percent graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school classes. Their average ACT was 28.
The Golden Hurricane Club, as the primary fundraising arm of TU Athletics, works to provide every TU student-athlete with the opportunity to realize a world-class athletic and academic experience.
JUNIOR (2011): Participated in six races, which included his first trip to the NCAA Championship . . . finished 203rd overall and fifth on the team in Terre Haute with a season-best 10K mark of 31:50.5 . . . helped Tulsa capture its second-straight Conference USA Championship with a seventh-place finish at the league meet . . . ran a career-best 8K of 24:10.0 at the conference race and earned a spot on the all-C-USA First Team . . . finished 23rd at the NCAA Midwest Regional (31:51.27) . . . placed sixth at the Houston Duel with a PR four mile of 19:40 . . . also finished 35th at NCAA Pre-Nationals (24:54) and 50th at the OSU Jamboree (25:06.12) . . . finished in the top five on the team in every race, while finishing second on the team twice (NCAA Pre-Nationals, NCAA Midwest Regional).
SOPHOMORE (2010): Competed in the final four events for the Golden Hurricane, helping lead the team to the Conference USA Championship title . . . finished ninth overall and fifth on the team at the C-USA Championship with a personal-best 8K time of 24:15 to earn a spot on the all-C-USA Second Team . . . finished 44th overall and fourth on the team with a 10K time of 31:11.90 at the NCAA Midwest Regional . . . finished 49th overall at the Notre Dame Invitational and also ran at Pre-Nationals . . . was part of the overall team scores (top five team finish) in all four races with two fourth-place team finishes and two fifth-place team finishes.
PREVIOUS COLLEGE (Coventry University, 2009): Participated in both the 1,500 meters and 5K during his one season at Coventry University.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Beauchamp College and placed 11th at the British University Cross Country Championship . . . recorded personal bests of 3:49 in the 1,500 meters, 8:19 in the 3,000 meters and 14:17 in the 5K.
