Since the opening of the Donald W. Reynolds Center in 1998, Tulsa’s athletic facilities have undergone a major facelift. New facilities include the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, the Collins Family Softball Complex, the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium, the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest, the Jack Zink Indoor Rowing Center, the Case Athletic Complex and major renovation to H.A. Chapman Stadium.
TU is 75th among national doctoral universities in U. S. News & World Report's 2012 edition of America's Best Colleges. TU's 2011 freshman class had a mean cumulative grade point average of 3.8, and 74 percent graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school classes. Their average ACT was 28.
The Golden Hurricane Club, as the primary fundraising arm of TU Athletics, works to provide every TU student-athlete with the opportunity to realize a world-class athletic and academic experience.
REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2011): Competed in all but two events, and was part of the team that competed at the NCAA Championship . . . placed 193rd overall and fourth on the team at the final race of the season in Terre Haute (31:42.3) . . . finished 11th at the Conference USA Championship in a PR 8K mark of 24:18.5, helping lead Tulsa to the league title . . . earned a spot on the all-C-USA Second Team . . . finished 31st at the NCAA Midwest Regional (32:04.85) . . . placed 55th at NCAA Pre-Nationals (25:12) and 57th at the OSU Jamboree (25:10.82) . . . finished fourth at the duel with Houston (19:34).
FRESHMAN (2010): Suffered a season-ending injury and took a redshirt.
HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered all four years in track and field and earned three letters in cross country at St. Michael's Catholic Academy . . . he was named the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) 5A Male Athlete of the Year . . . was the TAPPS cross country state champion his junior and senior years . . . was a three-time TAPPS state champion in the 1,600 meters and a two-time state champion in the 3,200 meters . . . his personal best in the 5K was 14:56, his personal best in the 3,200 meters was 9:02 and his personal best in the 1,600 was 4:11.
PERSONAL: Majoring in computer science . . . lists ice cream as his favorite food . . . his hobbies are listening to music and programming . . . his favorite game as a child was pinball . . . one of eight siblings . . . son of Stephen and Katherine Hodapp . . . born March 24, 1992.
